The children of Oton Elementary School and
Day Care Centers Dungon I and 2 were the beneficiaries of the the SM Cares
Bears of Joy from SM City Iloilo, recently.
The shoppers and those who supported the
project are a big part of this endeavor. For only P200.00, shoppers purchased a
pair of bear last Christmas wherein they got to keep 1 and the other was
donated to the mall’s selected beneficiary/charity organization.
The distribution was done by SM’s PR Manager Troy Camarista and Marketing Officer Lee Pedregosa together with the One Meal group who brought Jollibee to entertain as well as to provide snacks for the kids.

The One Meal group’s is a major part of
this gift-giving project as they are the mall’s partner in identifying the
beneficiaries, on top of their own organization’s advocacy of making more
children happy in areas that need help the most.
One meal was represented by its officers Eugenia
Bionat, Pinky Rojo, Chona Layson-Bondoc, Baby Porras, Bombing Co and Jun Guevarra.
Through the generosity of various
individuals, the SM Cares Bears of Joy has become a reflection of sharing--an
ancillary channel of love from one person sending warm hugs to those in need.
