Early Christrmas at Monsanto Gawad Kalinga Village

Monsanto Philippines recently delivered early Christmas gifts to 54 families living at the Monsanto – Gawad Kalinga Village in Sara, Iloilo, providing Christmas baskets containing items desired for a decent Noche Buena. Monsanto Corporate Engagement Lead Charina Ocampo facilitated the gift giving. “Now that all the 54 houses have been built, we hope that the beneficiaries have not only been able to rebuild their lives but also celebrate Christmas more joyously and meaningfully.”

Sara Jane Nacpin, a mother of four and whose family is among the beneficiaries, said this coming Christmas Eve will definitely be far from the previous year because they are assured of food on their table.“Nagpapasalamat kami. Malaking bagay ito dahil may panghanda na kami ngayong Pasko,”she said. Meanwhile, Gawad Kalinga Monsanto Village President Hajji Balome said the whole community is thankful for the gifts that came to their village.

The Monsanto-Gawad Kalinga Village is part of a community recovery program by Monsanto Philippines for farming communities affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda and Typhoon Ruby, which hit parts of Iloilo Province.
